Some things become so much a part of us that we almost stop seeing them.

The linework in Now You See Me almost disappears into its background.
It reminds me of white tattoos, old scars and marks you have carried for so long that you barely notice them anymore, until the light changes or you look from a different angle and suddenly there they are.

The work changes depending on your distance from it. What initially reads as a rich field of blue gradually reveals lines, texture and traces underneath.

It is a painting that asks for a second look.
