There is a time to push forward, and there is a time to stay still.

The title comes from Grit Your Teeth, a song I have loved for years. I’ve always connected with its sense of perseverance, because sometimes that really is what is required: grit your teeth and keep going. But perseverance isn’t always about running. Sometimes it means waiting, slowing down, staying with something when moving would be easier.

Against its green ground, the detailed linework creates a sense of movement and repetition, balanced by moments of stillness.

Compact enough to live in many different spaces while still having the depth and detail of a much larger work. A reminder, perhaps, that knowing when to move and knowing when to stay are both forms of strength.
