"For This Part, Darling, You Must Be Brave" began as a small experiment and then it become a recurring question: what would happen if I gave this idea the space it was asking for?
The answer is a painting designed to be experienced at two very different distances.
From across a room, its scale, graphic stripes and contrasting fields give it an architectural presence.
But then, move closer and experience the details, thousands of individually lines...
The metallic blue at the base adds another dimension. It responds to changing light, shifting subtly throughout the day and making the painting feel different depending on when and where you encounter it.
This painting is about the moment when an idea is no longer something you can simply think about. You have to give it space, time and a place in your life. And that requires you to be brave.
