Then I found the rhythm of this piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe title comes from a line in Robyn Davidson’s \"Tracks\": \u003cbr\u003e“I had learnt to use my fears as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks.” \u003cbr\u003eI loved that book for its vastness, the solitude and the pull of the desert, and that feeling found its way on this canvas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a statement piece rather than a neutral painting. From across the room, its sandy palette feels calm and expansive.
